Hey guys! Tonight’s post is going to be super short and informal! I’m currently out of town for RTX in Austin and the review I had prewritten was stored on a flash drive that decided to kick the bucket this weekend! Don’t have a lot of time to rewrite the full review but I still wanted to recommend Sleepwalk with Me!
Sleepwalk with Me synopsis via IMDB: A burgeoning stand-up comedian struggles with the stress of a stalled career, a stale relationship, and the wild spurts of severe sleepwalking he is desperate to ignore.
The movie does a wonderful job of capturing an aimless feel mirroring that of our main character, and it’s nice to see his progression throughout the movie. Matt Pandamiglio’s transition from struggling comedian to finally finding his voice may feel a bit too convenient and unnatural but it’s easy to forgive. The movie is extremely heartfelt and easy to get invested with the characters. It may be frustrating to watch Pandamiglio’s character struggle early on but the character’s journey is interesting. There is a nice balance between the melancholy tone and the hilarious jokes making Sleepwalk with Me an incredibly charming movie.
Alright! Sorry for the short post! Should be back to normal schedule next week!
Check out Sleepwalk with Me here on netflix!
